On Transformation Tuesday, I want shift the focus from physical transformations, to deeper changes. Yes, physical transformations are the ones that are easiest to quantify, and the pictures are fun and inspiring. But at our core, we are so much more than our physical bodies. Let’s own that!
Disclaimer: First, let me just say that, no, this is not a sponsored post. None of my posts are. I just want to share what’s working for me, in case it could also work for you.
For just over two weeks now, I’ve been taking Organic Burst’s Maca. Maca root is supposed to have amazing properties that regulate your hormones and provide energy. I started taking it because I still get monthly migraines tied to my cycle. I’m desperate for relief and I figured this was worth a try. At the least, it couldn’t hurt, right? Organic Burst’s tagline for this product is “Release the Jaguar.” Now, I don’t know about all that. What I do know is that I have gotten so much accomplished in the last twenty or so days that I’m blown away. And the only thing I can think to attribute it to is the Maca. It’s supposed to provide focus but what I’m seeing is more motivation. Where I used to be content to plop on the couch after work, I now get home and go through a long string of, “OK, let me do this firsts.” Maybe it’s providing focus, maybe it’s giving me energy so I’m not just plain exhausted at the day, who knows it could even be hormonal. But at the end of the day, I LOVE it!
I make a to-do list and it turns into a to-done list (whereas it used to drift to the bottom of my purse to decompose, but now my purse is even cleaned out). I feel 20 years younger! Which means, I feel like I did before I had children and became perpetually overwhelmed and sleep deprived. I have absolutely no desire to procrastinate anything. I just want to do it and get it done. How weird is that?
The Maca comes in powdered form. One teaspoon is considered a serving. It has a caramely flavor to it so I usually just mix it into my green tea in the morning, but one day I mixed it into chocolate almond milk and that was ah-mazing! Organic Burst’s website has a ton of recipe ideas that I’m excited to try as well.
So yeah, that’s my transformation this Tuesday. I’ve transformed from a procrastinating sloth to a motivated Maca addict. Now I’m starting on their Acai so I’ll let you know how that goes.
Here is the website if you’d like to give it a try.
